This is My Story
If, when you hear Country Music you imagine bro flavored pop with banjos, think again.
Cody Jack is a fresh, rugged, true Storyteller born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. His music is everything you wished Country had never lost, he’s all the right amount of Honky Tonkin’, Good Timin’, & Heartbreak!
When asked why he does what he does, Cody Jack says “I’ve always loved the craft of storytelling, that’s Country Music, period!”
He believes that when you have the ability to share your experiences through storytelling and music that’s when your fans start to connect with your music, during my live shows I try my best to connect with my fans through the stories I tell, about the songs that I write and through the music that I play.
He has been playing guitar and songwriting since 1999, influenced at a young age by such artists as Garth Brooks, Brooks & Dunn, The Judds, Travis Tritt, Cody Jack learned how to play anything from a heartbreak song, like Billy Ray Cyrus's "She's Not Cyrin Anymore" to some toe tappin honky tonk, like Brooks & Dunn's "Brand New Man."
In his late teens, early twenties he moved away from Country into experimenting with the Northwest sound and played in a few punk rock bands, these bands really didn’t go anywhere and Cody Jack was never truly fulfilled, he was then introduced to becoming a D.J. where he eventually did some touring and had a residency in the British West Indies, the whole time he was still playing solo gigs with his guitar from time to time but it just was never enough.
Cody Jack would soon realize that DJing is not where his heart was either. He moved back to the States to Reno, Nevada this time rather than his home Washington.
At that time, he had sold off all of his D.J. gear and only had his guitars. This is when he began diving into really songwriting and honing the craft of writing.
These days, you can find Cody Jack in a pub, brewery, or an ol honky tonk, strumming out cover songs from his heroes such as Chris Stapleton, Lee Brice, Bob Seger, Jamey Johnson, among other country legends His eclectic version of three chords and the truth will haunt you in his original songs he wrote from "Rainier Nights" to "The Devil's Ropin Me In" to "She's Still Here".
Cody Jack is currently in The Sonic Bandit Record Studio recording his very first full length album, the title of the album is still to be announced. Currently you can find his single "Rainier Nights" on all streaming digital platforms. He has been working with some of the most talented Country, Blues, and Americana artists of the Northwest to create a unique Northwest blend of country, blues, and rock.
